Port Authority’s divers inspected the repair work carried under water. According to the CEO of Klaipeda State Sea Port Authority Eugenijus Gentvilas, they have detected undesirable things and confirmed that not everything is done properly. He said that he cannot mention the names of companies because they might be insulted. There were extra works done underwater for which the workers expected to receive more money. When it went public, the companies promised not to take additional fees. After making unsolicited work, workers are trying to get more money from their employee, making up 10 per cent from the total order amount. The similar practice, when people are aiming to get more money for the supposed extra works continues in port for more than three years.

“Another company has dropped. It will not receive the money for its additional works because we did not ask for them. We will be following our principled position that the works which were not requested cannot be paid for,” – explained Mr. Gentvilas.
